Praying According To God's Will

PRAYING ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL

John 15:7
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
KJV

David wanted a new car because Simon had just bought a car. Since they both finished school the same time, got jobs and gotmarried around the same time, ‘why should Simon have a new car and not me?’ David thought. Simon already had a renewed mind and simply asked God and received a new car because he needed it and the old one was now bad, David on the other hand came to God to ask for a car for entirely different reasons; his motives were wrong. He wondered why God had not answered his prayer the  way He did Simon’s.  People do not receive answers to prayers because their motives are not according to the will of God.  If you abide in Christ and his words abide in you, this will cause your will to synchronize with God’s will so that whenever you ask,  God always answers. God does not act outside of His will. You cannot walk in the fullness of God’s will if your mind is not renewed to the mind of Christ. God always answers when your request is in accordance with His will. The renewal of your mind is caused by  Christ’s words abiding in you and you abiding in Him.

Go into today determined to let the words of Christ abide in you by reading the bible, talking about the word, listening to sermons, audio bibles, praying in the atmosphere of the word etc. Abide in Christ by staying filled with the Holy spirit; let a Holy spirit consciousness permeate your being and constantly speak to yourself (in your heart) in praises to God; speaking to yourselves in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs… (See: Eph 5:18-20).

Prayer: Thank God for giving you access to His presence. Pray that he will help you dwell in His word and help you stay filled with the Spirit. Thank Him for Hearing you. In Jesus name.

Don't Fret Yourself About Anything

Don't Fret Yourself About Anything
1 Peter 5:7; Psalm 55:22

Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."" The Word of God teaches that God's will for us is to live a stress-free, anxiety free lives. God is our heavenly Father and He is big enough to cater for us. This is the reason we need not be anxious for anything. Therefore, anxiety is a show of lack of confidence in God's ability to cater for His own. God is our burden Bearer. He wants to take care of us; He wants to bear our burdens, if only we will cast them on Him. It is evident that God wants to father us; He desires to sustain us because He loves us. God made us with the capacity to trust Him for our daily provisions. In fact, we trust God for a living. That's what we do for a living. Our heavenly Father takes care of the birds of the air (Matt.6:28-34). He is so magnanimous that His graciousness is mouth-opening. Beloved, you are more valuable than the birds of the air. Let your heart rest in His love for you. He is able and more than able to cater for you. Therefore, cast your burdens (cares, anxieties, worries) upon Him and He shall sustain you. Do not let your cares weigh you down. Why? They are not to be borne by you, in the first place. Pray your burdens over to the Lord, and He will take care of you (1Peter5:7).

Other Scriptures for Meditation: Matthew 10:29-31; 2 Corinthians 3:5

My Solid Front (Confession)
In the Name of Jesus, I believe in God's love for me, therefore I cast all my cares, concerns and worries on him and I refuse to fret about anything. Amen.

Built Up For Perfection

BUILT UP FOR PERFECTION

Eph 4:11-13
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
NIV

Someone asked “must I be and evangelist, pastor, prophet or apostle to serve the lord?” No, not everyone will be one of these but everyone who is in the body of Christ will serve the lord one way or another.
The reason the lord gave some these offices is because they are to prepare His people for the works of service, so that the body of Christ will be built up for perfection; expressing the fullness of Christ.
The reason why there is a pastor in your life is so that you would have spiritual care and accountability; So that you will grow to the measure of the fullness of Christ. The will of God is not for your denominations to highjack your gifts and callings but that the entire
body of Christ will benefit from the office He has called you to.
Can you imagine a tree branch having only one leaf? So it is when a denomination is based on the office, gifts and calling of a single individual, the growth of the people will be greatly limited.
If you have been called into one of these five offices in the body of Christ, it is a great privilege to serve the lord from such a capacity and I will urge you to live a life that is worthy of the calling to which you have been called- be completely humble and gentle; patient,
considerate etc. (see Eph 4:1-3).

Prayer: Heavenly father, I thank you for your word this day. I pray that I may walk worthy of the calling to which you have called me; help me fulfill my destiny in you, In Jesus name. Amen

The Commandment of Love

The Commandment Of Love
1 John 3:23; 1 John 4:21

John 13:34 "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."" In our opening scripture, Jesus Christ gave a charge to His disciples which He called 'a new commandment'. Note the exact words the Master used: A New Commandment. It is new, not old; and it is a commandment, not a suggestion. You see, in the old covenant, Israel lived by the Ten Commandments. However, in the new covenant, Believers are meant to live by the New Commandment, not the Ten Commandments. They had the Ten Commandments to live by, but we have just one New Commandment to live by. This new commandment is the only principle that guides and governs the man in Christ. It is the fulfilment of the Ten Commandments (The Law). Romans 13:10 says: "Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.""Beloved, you can never go wrong walking in love. No wonder Jesus commanded us to love one another the same way He has loved us because He wants us to always live right before the Father. Walking in love is walking in the light (1 John 2:9-11). You can never stumble walking in love. This is the practical way to always assure our hearts before God in our constant fellowship with Him. By this new kind of love, we are branded as Jesus' disciples anywhere on the globe.

Other Scriptures for Meditation: Romans 12:9- 10; 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

My Solid Front (Confession)
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I obey the Word of my Lord Jesus by walking in love towards all and I declare my love abounds more and more. Amen.

Integrity and Power

INTEGRITY AND POWER

Job 22:28
28 You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways.
NKJV

Integrity is an expedient for men who will have power with God. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit you have been endued with the great power of God (see Acts 1:8). One of the reasons why so many Christians do not walk in the physical manifestation of this power is because they do not give this power an outlet. Power that does not have an outlet is not seen at all.
One on the most convenient and greatest outlets of power a man has is his tongue. ‘You shall say to this mountain, be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea… (Mark 11:23)’, ’’ you shall decree a thing and it will be established… (Job 22:28)’, ‘with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Rom 10:10)’, ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21)’. As a servant of God you are expected of God to use your mouth to decree things over your life and bring them into reality, Jesus did it and He told us to do same.
The major hindrance to the power of tongue working for Christians is that they pollute that outlet of power by leading lives void of integrity. A man of integrity is the only one that can speak and angels will respond. It is Angels that minister for us and cause our words to be established (see Heb 1:14). When a man’s words have no weight with fellow men how can it have weight with angels?
When a man says he is coming by 4pm and does not plan to leave the house till 5pm, people who know him will not take his words seriously, how can angels run with his decrees?
Go into today determined to take your words more seriously than you have in the past. Begin to utilize this outlet of power you have (words) and decree the counsels of God alone concerning all aspects of your life.

Prayer: thank God for bringing you to this day. Begin to decree peace in every department of your life. Begin to decree peace over your country, in Jesus name. Amen

Salt

SALT

Matt 5:13
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
NASU

Jesus wants you to know that as long as you are in this world you are the one He has given the responsibility to give it sweetness and preserve it.
God would not have destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah if He had found up to ten righteous people in those cities ( See: Gen 18:26-33).
Your flavor or taste as a child of God is your righteous nature and your right standing with God. There are many disasters that your presence in a place will avert if you are fulfilling your God ordained purpose.
Just like food without salt is unpleasant, when you fail to fulfill your purpose in the place God has planted you, that place becomes unpleasant.

Go into today determined to always remember to approach God’s throne through the righteousness of Christ; voided of a guilty conscience through the cleansing by the blood of Christ, a cleansing facilitated by your walking in the light(walking righteously in love) (see 1 John 1:7).

Dear heavenly father, I thank you this day; how you have shown me your word. I ask that you help me stay connected to you so I don’t lose my taste, in Jesus name. Amen

The Power of Thanksgiving

THE POWER OF THANKSGIVING

Phil 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
NIV

Yesterday we read that one of the keys to experiencing the peace of God is not worrying but praying about everything. And in praying to God, we were instructed to do that with thanksgiving.

Now I want to show us how thanksgiving can move the hands of God in response to your prayers. Thanksgiving is an assurance of faith. A man that lives a life of thanksgiving has this understanding that God has made everything beautiful. Even in times of pain, he is still thanking God because of his believe on divine ordination. If God has ordained you a priest of the new covenant, sickness cannot change anything because whatever He says He will do, that He will do.

When Jesus lifted up the limited bread and fishes, he gave thanks. He was thanking God because he knew that at that point in time God has said he will provide. What are you seeing now in that condition; lack or impossibility? Please my friend begin to see answer to your prayers before you pray because God has already answered you beforehand and is waiting for you to key in with faith empowered by thanksgiving.

Go into today with a determination to live a life of thanksgiving. When you thank God for His finger you will see His hand.

Prayer: thank you father for making everything beautiful in my life according to your timing. I pray lord that you help me walk patiently with you as I see the unfolding of my answers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
